Our little guy has figured out that once he makes me laugh, he can keep me laughing by repeating himself over and over and over....

Referral Anniversary Day

Oh, my little sunshine, I can't believe we found out about you an entire year ago.. We felt like we were waiting for-e-vah for you, to see your little face, to count your fingers and toes.. to finally have the hope of holding you. I am crying now thinking about the phone call that changed our lives and all the emotions that came pouring out from it.. Elation (finally!), Fear (am I going to be any good at being a mom?), Anxiety, Hope, Excitement, Anticipation..etc etc.. and yet that all seems so long ago b/c now, you are here, you are our son and life just doesn't make sense without you. You have already taught me so much about myself (most of it not good mind you) and your father (all better than I had hoped for) and I just can't wait to continue to get to know your unique little personality behind that beautiful face.

I'm so glad you are here.. I am humbled by the gift of your life into ours.

I swear he did it by himself

Well, for the last few days I have been trying to capture Kai taking a solo step.. He has done 2 in a row(!).. But he hasn't been willing to do it again at the precise moment that I actually have the camera ready.. So, here is a video that will have to do in the mean time :)

This is monumental & I couldn't be prouder of the giant step forward our country just took.

The BEST voting day ever!

Did you know about all of the free voter stuff today?? I didn't find out until late and didn't want to miss out, so after dinner we packed up the kiddo and headed out on a fun filled freeby seeking adventure! Hopefully this will become a family tradition b/c we had that much fun :)

First up we hit Starbucks for our free coffees, decaf please,

Then across the street to Krispy Kreme for yummy original glazed

Final stop was Ben & Jerry's for some Chocolate Therapy & Chocolate Peanut Butter

On the way home we had unfruitful trips through both Chick-fil-A and Shane's Ribs. But, by the time we hit Chick-fil-A, we (um, Ben mostly) were high on sugar and laughing at everything & nothing so it didn't matter at all that there were no more voter sandwiches :)
